Our client is seeking a proactive and highly skilled H&S and Facilities Officer to join their dynamic team reporting directly to the Labels Factory Manager. As a leading provider of weighing and labelling solutions, they are looking for a candidate who has facilities administration experience and a strong background in health and safety compliance.
The future looks promising for this business with new contract wins on the horizon and they are led by a management team which has been in place for a number of years.
Their culture is a supportive one and there are many examples of employees that have progressed into senior roles within the business or employees that have been retained.
Although the role will cover both the offices and the factory, experience within manufacturing or warehouse is essential for this position. Also, there will be minimal facilities administration required for this vacancy alongside the health and safety aspect of the position.
This role is Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:30 and there is no weekend requirement. Further development opportunities such as external training may become available for the successful candidate.
Job specification
- Coordinate the activities required to meet company standards and legal requirements for H&S and Facilities management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety inspections in the workplace and advise employees on how to minimise risks and hazards.
- Provide first aid duties and manage emergency procedures, including organising emergency teams such as fire marshals and first aiders.
- Facilitate statutory inspections for LOLER and Compressed air systems.
- Record weekly health and safety tours and log any accidents and incidents as appropriate.
- Act as the primary contact for maintenance requests and defects, liaising with all parties throughout the process.
- Arrange maintenance and monitor progress of works, liaising with contractors and employees whilst work is being completed.
- Obtain quotations for facilities work.
Personal Specification
- 2 years' experience in a safety health and environmental role in food/FMCG or manufacturing or Warehouse environment.
- Proven Health and Safety experience.
- IOSH and NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Strong communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written and excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure be team focused, influential, flexible, and confident.
- Full driver's license and ability to travel for necessary training/meetings.
